Liberty
Known throughout the world as one of Britain's flagship department stores, Liberty & Co have been at the forefront of design retail from the turn of the 20th Century. Its metal ware designed by Archibald Knox is seen as Britain's response to the continental Art Nouveau movement, a style that in Italy was simply called Stile Liberty. Other well-known designers associated with this were Christopher Dresser and William Moorcroft.
Liberty wares are widely collected and rare examples in good condition make strong prices. However, it is still possible to find more common examples which are affordable for new and existing collectors to purchase.
